Michael Thibodeau is a pianist living in Toronto, Ontario.  His teachers are a cross-section of Canada's most eminent pedagogues, including Drs. James Parker, Henri-Paul Sicsic, Edmund Dawe, and the late British-Canadian pianist Robin Harrison.  Raised in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, Michael completed undergraduate studies at Mount Allison University with distinction, where he read Music and English literature while holding the institution's premier scholarship.  Heading to larger pastures for graduate studies, Michael completed masters and doctoral degrees in piano at the University of Toronto.

An alumnus of the Morningside Music Bridge, Aspen, Orford, and Toronto Summer Music Festivals, Michael has performed across multiple continents in masterclasses for several acclaimed pedagogues, including Gary Graffman, John Perry, and Zhou Guangren.  Further masterclasses with Roger Vignoles and Sir Thomas Allen guided study of art song.

Michael lives in the Scarborough Bluffs with his two children. He maintains a lively piano studio, teaches music for the Toronto Catholic District School Board, and coordinates the music ministry at St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church in High Park.
